Editorial Policies
Integrity, quality, and fairness in plant science publishing.
Upholding Scientific Standards
JAPB adheres to guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and ensures transparency in all editorial processes. Our policies protect the integrity of the plant science literature.
Double-Blind Process
Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout review, ensuring manuscripts are judged solely on scientific merit without institutional bias.
Expert Evaluation
Minimum two independent expert reviews required. Editors select reviewers with relevant plant biology expertise and no conflicts of interest.
Constructive Feedback
Reviewers provide detailed, actionable comments. We expect professional, evidence-based critique aimed at improving manuscript quality.
Appeals Process
Authors may appeal editorial decisions in writing with specific rebuttals to reviewer concerns and new supporting evidence.
