The processing charges cover comprehensive editorial services including professional copyediting, typesetting, digital preservation, and worldwide distribution through our network of indexing partners and academic databases.

Authors from institutions without dedicated publishing funds can explore our waiver program, which evaluates requests based on documented financial constraints and demonstrated need for support. Our goal is ensuring that financial barriers never prevent quality linguistics research from reaching publication. We recognize that groundbreaking linguistics research emerges from institutions of all resource levels, and our waiver policies ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent important scholarship from reaching the global academic community.

Universities and research institutions can establish prepaid agreements covering APCs for affiliated authors. Consortium arrangements provide predictable publishing costs and streamlined administrative processing. Institutional members receive quarterly publication reports and dedicated account management support for budget planning and compliance documentation.

JLR publishing meets requirements for major research funding agencies including NSF, NIH, AHRC, DFG, and national science foundations worldwide. Our CC BY 4.0 licensing and immediate open access publication ensure compliance with Plan S, OSTP mandates, and institutional repository policies and university open access mandates. Authors receive documentation confirming compliance upon request for grant reporting, institutional compliance requirements, and annual reporting documentation.

APCs are quoted in USD with real-time currency conversion available for international payments. JLR accepts institutional purchase orders, credit cards, wire transfers, PayPal, and institutional billing systems. We also accept purchase orders from universities and research institutions with established credit arrangements. Invoices are generated upon acceptance with standard payment terms of net-30 days, with extended terms available for institutional accounts upon request.
