International Journal of Thorax

Aims and Scope

International Journal of Thorax is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to disseminating groundbreaking research and clinical insights across the broad spectrum of thoracic medicine and imaging. IJT serves as an international forum where clinicians, researchers, and innovators converge to explore every facet of thoracic health - from the latest in interventional pulmonology and thoracic oncology to emerging techniques in thoracic imaging and organ transplantation.

Our Scope Includes:

  • Cutting-edge studies in pulmonary medicine, and therapeutic endoscopy.
  • Evidence-based studies on thoracic disease diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
  • Novel approaches in interventional pulmonology, and thoracic organ transplantation.
  • Contributions from epidemiology, endocrinology, pharmacology, pathology, and beyond.
  • Interdisciplinary studies that integrate clinical insights with technological innovations (e.g., medical robotics, digital imaging, and device design).
  • The journal also welcomes innovative studies that integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into clinical practice.
  • Research addressing cardiopulmonary diseases, respiratory tract disorders, sleep disorders, and associated systemic conditions.
  • Studies on the management of thoracic trauma, infections, bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, chest wall tumors, and congenital conditions like pectus excavatum.
  • Explorations into neurology as it relates to the thorax, including phrenic nerve disorders, thoracic aortic aneurysms, and related cardiac imaging and radiotherapy.
  • Reviews and commentaries on evolving trends in cardiovascular physiology, pulmonary transplantation, interventional cardiology, and comprehensive respiratory biology.

The journal actively encourages the submission of manuscripts from worldwide authors and seeks to encourage collaboration across disciplines.
