Lianbin Xiang
Address:
N416,
2500 N State St.,
Jackson, MS 39216,
United States.
Research Interests:
- His principal area of research is the study of the molecular mechanisms of immune responses to psychological stress.
- Using gene expression analysis, he is studying the effects of stress and stress hormones on gene expression of stress hormone receptors and immunomodulatory profile from human peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
- The current focus of his research is exploring association and/or interaction between immunomodulatory profiles and psychological stress based on genetic factors (gene polymorphisms of stress hormone receptors and cytokine receptors) which may have clinical potentials as stable biomarkers to predict individuals at increased risk for an altered immune imbalance with various environmental exposures (such as psychological stress) and possible disease manifestation.
Biography:
- He received his MD and MSc from the Wuhan University, School of Medicine in China.
- He also received his MSc from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
- He completed his residency at the Wuhan University, School of Medicine, and postdoctoral research fellow training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
- He has joined University of Mississippi Medical Center as a faculty member since 2000.
